The only interesting part of Vatican is the below ground excavation tour, the original church and cemetery and living areas.
I love architecture and archaeology, I have zero belief in deities. Insane amount of wealth there in the Vatican...
don't care about the deity piece either - but the art did the trick for me as well as the deep history( architecture and archeology ). Rome is crazy, you can walk past a brand new building and a 5,000 year old archeological dig within the confines of the same block.

I liked Florence much better, more walkable, better gelato and a damned good kebab place!
