Could a PBOC "surprise devaluation" blow up longs held over the weekend? Asking because I don't know what the big Yen strength does to Yuan.

not likely. PBOC has recently lower reference rate, i.e. strengthen yuan. yuan reference rate is measured against a basket of currency after de-ped from USD. not sure how that basket of currency composition and weight.
