Last year’s low was December 24. A day later the new lows came to a screaching halt (green circles, dashed green vertical line).
That’s what I’ll be looking for in a durable low: new lows that come to a screaching halt…. Not yet….
As of yesterday we still had about 17% of SPX stocks making new lows (and more today when it updates).
And about 26% of NYSE stocks making new lows.

Pasta, I like this. Would like to keep it on file. Can you share because I'm too lazy to recreate it?

Thank you!

As for disappearance, I blame Cobra. Taught me too well, made too much money, drank too much booze.
It's been a fun several years playing with the kids though. Owe you ALL big time for that. Having both parents home has been invaluable for the children. No exaggeration: This website changed my life.

Picked a heck of a time to come back though.

Another gap closed at 2709.80.
This one was important as it was below the March and June 2019 lows.
Maybe a little support down here after stops have been cleared? I don't know.

Only three down gaps left!
Tagging that stranded NYMO benchmark at 2595.32 would clean up some long standing unfinished business...

We still have a positive NYMO divergence.
If it persists as we continue to make lows, the February low at 2855.84 will offer some juice for the long side at some point.

Flat after one intraday short this morning.

Stocks down, treasury bonds down. WHY?
This is disheartening for folks who held TLT long-treasury bonds as the last/only “safe haven” on the planet.
zh: Hmmm …. weird that TLT was down much further than its underlying [$UST] indicated.
What happened?
It would appear some macro fund was perhaps long high-growth stocks, and long bonds as a hedge - and while the gains in bonds had been considerable, they were nothing relative to the (likely levered) losses that any high-growth exposure has suffered .… Leaving us to suspect that the last couple days crash in TLT was driven by the forced liquidation of an entire fund (or at the least an entire strategy) as the margin calls on the equity side losses forced the sale of bonds.
[Pasta rant: Lesson learned: don’t get rigid with your personal or popular theories (e.g.: long treasuries are the only safe haven in town]. Something unexpected can come along and smack you upside your head. USE STOPS AND DON’T ARGUE WITH YOUR CHARTS.]

Snake, having trouble signing in with Disqus on the member page.

By my count 6 of the last 12 sessions have been MDD. Any stats or insights on Major distribution clusters?

Thanks
