So I had no choices but to kick him out because it affects the entire forum now. I don't care right or wrong, I'm, after all, running a business here, anyone who affects my business will have to go, period. Why? If my business goes bad, are you going to feed my entire family?

Oh, one more thing, guess you never been to other forums, otherwise you won't say things like that: I'm perhaps the most forgivable admin you ever met. You can try other forums then you'll know.
Absolutely right, Cobra, on all counts. It is your business, and it needs protecting. Your tolerance of his sniping and disrespect was way beyond what other site owners would allow.

Absolutely right also, BB52x.
Charts posted are not recommendations. They are just a sharing of information.

With all the talk about how rare it is to find an admin as forgiving as Cobra, I registered to tell the unfortunate story of one who was even more forgiving. It was a technical analysis site during the blog boom after the 2008 crisis. One of the forum posters would regularly declare himself a genius, try to pump whatever bag he was holding, and insult anyone who disagreed with him. It lead to a cycle of arguments breaking out, the admin giving a warning, the guy playing victim and then promising to improve his behavior, and the admin giving him "one last chance." After many "one last chances" went by, the constructive posters were gone and the forum was just a few trolls arguing with each other and spambots posting ad links. The admin gave up and shut the site down entirely.

The bottom line is a stock site needs to have a degree of professionalism. Concepts of censorship and opinions don't apply to rudeness itself, and rudeness was the issue here. Cobra's board has historically had a very good balance of professionalism and friendliness, and sometimes you have to do what you have to do to maintain it.

rich_or_wealthy wrote:I’m a long time member, first time poster. QED, your original post was a well written statement on the value of open discourse but imo, not pertinent to this situation. This is not an open forum. Cobra expends resources to operate his service and this forum. It is private, not public space. He can screen members, and set and enforce boundaries as he sees fit. Cletus is a broken watch (right twice a day) with a big ego and poor respect for others. I wish he would have been booted sooner.
