here is something interesting.
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000142 ... TopStories
according to every other asset class...SPY should be at minimally at 124.
/es rollover. esz1 is still above y'day low. i will not be too bearish.
here is some interesting stats:
Because the 200-day SMA is so widely followed, predatory traders might try to plant more late-day false rumors, which appear to be mindlessly reported by the gullible media, in an effort to close SPX above its 200-day SMA, in order to trigger buy orders to sell into. Note that since 1/3/2000, of the 106 instances of the SPX closing above or below its 200-day SMA, 88% of the 200-day SMA crossover signals would have resulted in a loss, going both long and short, following the trend in the direction of the crossover.
The goal is not uniformity. It is understanding and idea exchange.

spy pays a dividend so it trades at a premium when it is near ex-day
Thanks, I'm new to this.

20MA has to catch up a little still, but it's shaping up to be just like the past two days. a sharp reversal of the down move. then some sort of retrace of that move later in the afternoon, and then the usual late day up and down.

i'm looking at a potential revisit of S1 at 125.32 (but maybe not), then a melt up to that magical 126.30 (but maybe a little lower today). then we come down to 125.80...before we go loopy right at the end of the day.

my wildest guess...though i'm putting it in a little early today.

I think at some point, yesterday, you asked if anyone had the balls to short the market (after it reached a quadruple top).

For the record, I said I was doubling down...and did. I won't lie that I had a little pants leakage this morning, when I saw futures pop. But, all's well that ends well. And this lethargic old snake booked some very nice profits this morning.

Still short silver and oil.

Hello everyone. Just registered the other day. I love the open dialogue here...
Im quite busy today, don't have time to watch the market minute by minute like I normally do, so....
Any consensus on the intermediate or short term direction? I'd like to get in on SPY or leveraged fund today. Good idea or is it to wishy washy?

Signed up last night under the same name.

WIll be off and on the next couple of weeks as I make a sojourn up to Toronto for a securities test. Looking for silver to test $30 and maybe buy some gold and silver equities ahead of the seasonally strong first quarter.

Bradley turn date at the end of the year indicating a strong start to next year.
