I don't KNOW that the machines (HFTs) are programmed to keep the market going up, but I suspect that the quid pro quo from the most corrupt administration in history is what has brought about "BTFD". The money is free, the accounting rules are meaningless, SEC and CFTC trading rules are meaningless, and all that is needed is that they don't let it drop. Note that there was no investigation as to activities on August 9th that shut down many trading platforms with before unseen quote stuffing as well as almost forced Nasdaq to reboot. They wanted selling to stop and they did exactly that by not allowing orders in as they bought futures.

This is a casino run by computers. It is a TWO ARMED BANDIT. I realize I sound like a broken record, but the record is still #1 on Billboard's Top Market Records. All the movement today has been by algos. There isn't a real market anymore. Thinking there is will kill you....kill you DEAD!
