Well the IMF offered its advice via past president Simon Johnson when he wrote "The Quiet Coup" in May of 2009, and they chose not to listen. "If you build Oligarchs instead of dealing with the structural problems your chances of a depression will increase".

Search "The Quiet Coup Atlantic Monthly" as it's online.

I think it's time Tom Wolfe wrote "Bonfire of the Vanities 2"

Thought we could have seen the highs in TMF, but forming a triangle, waiting to see where it breaks out...could we be in a wave 4 headed up to 5?

You might just be onto something there, TG.

I have been watching TLT for some days now. If it is indeed forming a pennant (on many different time scales now),
then something major is about to happen.
I guess we will see which way it breaks....

Yields can't rise. Government will keep them low until 2014 as stated. Operation Twist will keep the long end down so we can all refinance our mortgages if the banks will let us. So equity will decouple at some point.
I think Spain is gearing up for 2014 to lend us money. :o

A bit funny to watch this mkt now establish 56.25 (ES) as support. Bots blast every time we hit there. BOING BOING BOING. Take a hint bears, no more down.

If today was nice and green I would have said yes but so far the grind is not convincing.
A good green day, SPX going up 8-10 points, would have pushed the NYMO to over +80 from where reversals are 99% occurrences. Today's action, at this rate, will grind it a bit lower and it is a no-man's land; tomorrow could be either way.

Then a drop, a biggun'!

That out of the way (take a deep breath), have you ever read (one should really say "heard" here) The Mahabharata ?
It is being reported that Roberts changed his vote six weeks ago and would not listen to anyone's argument or say why.

Now we have "horror and malaise" at the war he is bringing us, we are about to take The Great Journey, and this tests sucks.

Do I have that about right?

BBC: Finland has cast doubt on one of the key crisis-response measures agreed at last week's EU summit - to use eurozone bailout funds more flexibly.

The Finnish government says it has Dutch backing to prevent the eurozone's new permanent bailout fund - the ESM - from buying bonds in secondary markets.

Under pressure from Italy and Spain the 17 eurozone leaders agreed to ease the mechanism for bond purchases.
