The Fed telling us there is no QE3 is like a vegetarian eating short-rib ravioli or pork eggrolls. Just because you can't 'see' meat doesn't mean it's not there.
True, there is no QE3 (yet) in the form of QE1 or QE2. QE stands for quantitative easing and quantitative easing happens when a central bank buys financial assets to inject money into the economy.
Even though it's not called QE3, the Fed is right now making billions of dollars available to buy financial instruments. We're not talking about Operation Twist here; we're talking about a covert operation that's essentially a U.S. bailout of Europe.
bears are screwed.

good point--and really given qqq over old high--there was very little discussion of this obvious point.

I think not, we have become the old Soviet Union regarding propaganda
I have been scorned here by a few by having knowledge they refuse to accept.
Yet if they were to read the well footnoted book, "DUPES: How America' Adversaries Have Manipulated Progressives for a Century", they might understand that a disciple of Karl Marx is in the Whitehouse as his ties to subversive groups has been lifelong.
But what do I know? I only have Russian friends who have told me we are falling just as their nations did under the umbrella of the Soviet Union. Poll the Florida Cuban community. As per an article on which cities are the most medicated there has been a spike in anti-depressants being taken by those who fled Castro. I heard a physician call a talk show saying he is seeing many people complaining of chest pain and it's not their hearts. They are all reporting that they are terrified for their children of what they see happening in America.
Put all that together and the propaganda you speak of is to be expected. And right now, Wall Street firms are the industrialists who feed their financial needs for power. They will turn on them also when they are not needed. Change indeed. Market tougher to trade these day? Shocking!

central banks have often participated in currency markets. with the way things were headed with euro / greek stuff id be suprised if they werent acting to bring some stability else a euro spiral down. besides that i have another explanation, registered pension plan contribution season.

Yes, but check the black ellipse and the 14:00 p.m. signal. Black ellipse is kind of important and I'll be checking 14:00 - don't quite know how I'm going to handle it because I've got a meeting..

Collapse? Chart was pretty bearish and was trading at the top of a descending channel before it gapped over it today. My bet is if the market turns on Monday, BAC will be under 7 in 2 weeks.

Do I have you confused with the individual who left one forum where I read you were posting bullish opinions on one site, and bearish on another site? Sorry to ask, but I like to know what I'm looking at and from whom and if I have you confused with someone else who has "alpha" in his name I apologize. This individual went on to sell a pricey service.
Well alphahorn has a subscription service that is more expensive than most. I've never heard the story you refer to though.
FWIW I've known him for years and I think he's one of the best trader/analysts that I've seen.
Where's that quote from? It wasn't from the thread today as far as I can see.
The quote I posted is on page 3. I don't know him at all. But I just e-mailed an individual who used to post on that forum and I am correct and was told somewhere they have screen shots of screaming that the market is a sale while calling others dopes for being short. <snip>
I know someone who subscribed to him once and she considered his website as waste of money. Cougar was right about his secret indicators.
I'm not familiar with what Cougar wrote but I received an e-mail telling me he claimed he could sell his indicators to institutions, but decided to offer them to the public for a pricey admission. With 2000+ PhDs on Wall Street now I am strained to believe that is true.
Being told of anyone making a prediction in both directions is what I think is called a "tout" at a racetrack who looks for a few bucks if the horse comes in. The payoff would be, in this case, selling a service. I cannot conceive of how someone could do such a thing at the track or in the market.
