i'm relaxed. i "modified" the timeframe to make the point i attempted to make earlier, since my lack of chronological specificity made the concept too difficult to grasp. the basic gist is that one took office around the time of the cyclical peak and the other around the time of a cyclical low. the article i was referencing alluded to performance just months and up to one year after election. it had nothing to do with all the other time during anyone's presidency, therefore neither did my comparison.Xian wrote:rc1269 wrote:This is what I mean, "didn't want to get into it" Just thought I'd give you a simple fact. Relax.Xian wrote:"don't want to get into this" immediately followed by getting into it. classic. we all know you love big O; you've made that abundantly clear for a long time. and in similar fashion, spend more time caring about words than substance. apologies for typing too fast while i hold down a real job on the side - is this better for you: "Bush assumed the role of President 15% from the market peak and still up 192% over the prior 6 years" ?rc1269 wrote:Don't want to get into this, but please know that Bush didn't "take over" (great choice of words) at "the height of the tech bubble." NAZ peaked in March 2000. GW became POTUS Jan '01.TraderJoe wrote: hmm probably doesn't have much to do with the fact the market had declined about 40% the twelve months heading into Obama's election, and Bush took over at the height of the tech bubble...
there, i feel much better that i've got all the words straight. now, which UAW chapter can i send my next bailout check to?
I don't love O, I show respect for the President of the United States because I am a patriot regardless who who sits in the oval, unlike some. And I've said all along the electoral math favors O, 'cuz it did.
I really like how you choose to modify the time frame for his years in office. Yes, excluding the crash and if you don't count all the time he was POTUS, but just some of the time he was POTUS the market did great during that time that you've picked out. I agree.

and i don't disagree with anything you've said. my criticism's of Obama shouldn't be construed as an endorsment for Romney. I'm pretty sure I never said I liked him any more or less
