Some guys in this forum are very opinonated in regard to Fed policy, gold, US-economy, Cyprus... Great to have an opinion, but if would be even better if these guys had done a bit more reasearch on the issues they are talking about. Superficial knowledge and ignorance doesn't help us much in life, and it certainly doesn't help us when playing the markets

Unempel much respect to your trading skills. I was talking long term. Short term markets can go any way it likes and Al Brooks price theory is obviously the best way to make money in this market short term. Some people actually manage money for long term investors too so being sucked into the technicals at super over bought stages in the market is a bad way to make money long term. Short term stick to Big Al.

Frank, I read your post. Honestly, I don't quite understand what you want to say. It does not make sense

A) If you are a long term investor you are most certainly long now. You are long Treasuries, you are long US-equities, your are long real estate and you are long some soft commodities. And you are long the Nikkei and short the Yen, and you're waiting until John Paulson ist out of business before buying gold

B) If you don't believe in TA why do you bother to come to this site? This is a waste of time for you Go chase the girls, climb Everest, have fun...

C) If you are a long term investor (and not a schoolboy...) check out this Coppock chart and manage your US-equity portfolio accordingly And don't forget to hedge when the momentum indicator (Coppock) crosses the dotted line...

what to make of the low volume today in some stocks? Specifically GOOG, AAPL, and BBRY have volume about half their usual levels.

Is today some kind of holiday or something I'm unaware of? Did another pope retire?
