I thought about it and then remembered that people were offended. So, I didn't.

Al how are our internals? We need some buying interest right here to convince me we will move appreciably higher.

Half short. No change.

My summation index signal is down. Saw a little improvement though late last week.
My composite trend indicator signal is up. Saw a little deterioration though late last week.

The coiling action of the last few days broke down this morning and ran stops but did not do too much damage.
As the first move can be a fake, need to see the lows set this morning broken to confirm direction.
Breaking the coil in the other direction would not be a surprise either during this OPEX week.
I have a runner position from last week, but it could flop in this chop.

Speaking of coils, the R2K looks particularly sinister this morning.
After four days of consolidation, they ran sell stops and sucked in some bears and are now positioned to run the buy stops.
If bears can hold resistance at the highs, it will be telling.
All scenarios are on the table though, and today's lows may just be a conventional market operation.

Just remembered I wanted to share this with anyone who may take interest: if you haven't read "Thinking, Fast and Slow" I highly recommend it. It's heavy into the psychology around what biases our perceptions and decisions so I find it very interesting from a trading mind-set. So there you have it FWIW.

It's nickel and dime algo dance, the leash pull on 50% of all stocks. The richest 1% of usa own the other half until the green line in the chart below falters. Time and debt wait for no man.

$10 on Amazon and $5 if you have a Kindle (I like holding a paperback but whatever).

Also at Barry's site the Big Picture someone did a very loose/unofficial poll a short time ago of the best non-financial financial books out there and this title came up many times. Now I see why.
