GLD daily... slipped under 20d mid BBand... mind the FOMC minutes at 2:00pm ET... could cause a big move.

re: gold

There is a point where at lower levels I would become a huge buyer. At current levels its still wild and frothy and I won't go near it long or short.

sorry.. . pattern could break, and you could see a sharp upward move... as broken patterns move as sharp as the regular ones... need to keep your eye on it in the near term for sure... and the USD dollar. As always price is king.

Thanks for everyone's posts, you're so kind.In fact I'm a bear on Gold for mid-long term, but this time my short position is at 1371,not very far from here, and I think Gold may have a rebound around 1339.Now,after refering to your posts,I has covered them at 1339.If rebound as a B wave could be true,I will short again,if no rebound and drop......Maybe I should call Mr Putin.

Message to those who have a broker with access to Eurex:

DAX volatility was great today: DAX moved in-between 9326 and 9223 - that's a range of more than one (for those who only speak Spanish - uno :D ) percent.

The same intraday action by SPX would be a range of approx 1855 to 1873.

Last but not least: DAX has many idiosyncrasies. One of them is the 100 point range. Corrections tend to be 100, 200 or 300 points. Bigger corrections go for 400, 500, 800, 900 and so forth. These figures are not set in stone - but DAX traders seem to prefer these round numbers. Today's range was quite exemplary.

VIX 60m... possible support... looking at shorter term 15m.. a little bear flag.. so FOMC minutes could bring a sharp drop.. anyhow.. wild swings no doubt near the release...

Interesting article from bloomberg... about one trade....http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-03-1 ... y-may.html

The trader bought 150,000 bullish contracts on the VIX expiring in May with a strike price of 22, while selling the same number of May 30 calls in a strategy known as a call spread, according to New York-based Miller Tabak & Co. The trade cost 53 cents to put on for each contract and it will profit if the volatility gauge rises above 22.53 from the current level around 14, data compiled by Bloomberg show. It has a maximum payoff if the VIX more than doubles to 30.

But it's not just the Chinese slowdown that has caused the plunge in the price of copper - Chinese businesses have been using the commodity as collateral for their loans.

So with the first ever bond default in China, commodity investors are worried there may be a glut of the metal coming on to the market.

Exactly how much copper is being held for collateral is uncertain.

Good read Al, it was annexed to Todd Salmone's Monday Morning Outlook last weekend.

Funny how we often don't check the validity of some old adages and accept them as facts. But one saying is always valid, always: The market can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent (usually attributed to J.M.Keynes).
