Anyone have any thoughts on UUP? ChiOsc is extremely low, nice moves up previous times this happened. Thinking of buying some calls...

Just like indicators showing overbought/extreme whatever for SPY they are showing oversold for the dollar. Once things turn everything will turn and should take UUP up with it. Let me know when you figure out when things will turn

Cal Specific Muni Bond update:

the major theme coming out of cal is oneof lack of supply, NOT the credit story. Credit is so 2009. Despite the controller headlines (total bs btw), cals all good. Word is Facebook ipo will filter about a half billion in tax receipts. Cal is only issuing a 5-8bn max this year (They have ~100+bn of debt outstanding, and they generall issue 10+bn / year). They are paying of their Cal Dept of Water Resources power indenture VERY quickly (about 500 mm a year) and they aren’t issuing any more of those. The Cal ERBs (backed by a double barrel of sales tax + g.O.s) gov brown is targeting to pay off by 2017. Last year’s November referendums approved VERY little in terms of cal paper. What issuance IS being done is pure refundings. In other words, while yields stink on an absolute basis and are just “ok” on a relative basis, So the moral of the story is get yer paper, no matter how low the yields are, and lock it in, because it’s going to be a draught, and the cal market is simply contracting. All other states, ignore what I just said.

tick came in at 7am...my personal experience is that post and pre market bars on the TOS system is more noise than a true p-bar.
