Welcome to the world of computer controlled trading!
SEVEN big buy spikes in 15 seconds just did that. Why? Because they could. What a great SEC and Justice Department we have.
I covered 3/4 of my shorts before that as I saw it slowing down. But this is ridiculous! At it's root, it makes us no better than the criminal state of Mexico if our markets are not policed.

Hello Latency Algo. Man, would it be like awesome to be the guy running that program? Press the button and watch the market pop.
maintain the plan. remember the 3rd push down doesn't have to be lower low. personally I don't believe we'll have another sharp V today though so it's just a rebound after the 3rd push down, not something sharp.

I continue to hold an intermediate term short position (put on Monday in pre-market hours).
While price has been gyrating, continued deterioration in the McClellan Oscillator and the McClellan Summation Index suggest growing weakness under the surface.
So, no confirmation of a trend change yet, but the case is firming up. Will keep watching closely in case the action is simply a back and fill before proceeding on up.

But the bigger thing is this - Merger & Acquisition firms are closing down. The mkt has no connection to the reality of that which remains of our economy as in the value of companies that hire people.
Markets take years to bring investors into it. They leave easily for two reasons. One is due to losses and the other is volatility and its uncertainty of large swings in equity they cannot accept. Regardless of size, most people can look at (e.g) a $1,000 profit on a trade right now and see it fluctuate by $500 in a blink all due to the machines. It's not that you ever really controlled you position, but you did control your losses unless an odd event occurred. Now, they know your position and it better not be the same as everyone else because it's plain that unless mass liquidation begins, they have unlimited funds and trade ONLY because they figured out the positions on at any given time.
