one thing i find interesting in this moment is discussion on bearish sentiment. i see some people assert there are no bears, but the measures i use say we have too many bears.
bearish as of SPY 406 on 2/17/23
currently: end bearish as of SPY 406 on 3/6/23

Speaking of bears, the Wall Street Journal just hit the button on their bear spray. White washing the bad GDP number with select quotes from economists that it was actual good and their is nothing to be concerned about.

SPY first hit 200 (then all-time high) back around the first week of Sept.
Last reading was 199.99

if i could do a poll id ask everyone if they think there are too many bears, little to no bears, or neiher extreme.

Some serious clobberings going on in the world.
EWZ down nearly 5% ?!
ILF down over 3%... China ETFs and EEM down 2%...
How long can SPX hold up today? And going fwd..?

4th or 5th one of these to the open today. Might imply aggressive buying toward end of day? (Usually along with 2:15 buying program.)

Also, some odd commodity correlations. Oil and the precious metals are strongly up, but DBC, the broad comm. ETF, is flat on the day.

no strong rebound, but still if goes like this, I don't think bears are serious today.
