@Cobra -Totally agree 3 pushes up - although the first leg down could have exhausted bears for today and could see some trading range here for rest of day

True, but Cyprus showed that they can't go straight for the deposits because of this pesky democracy thing. Any member who votes for that isn't getting re-elected. Thus to bypass that you need to make it a restructuring and in order to have a legit restructuring you need to wipe out the shareholders and bondholders before going for the deposits. All of a sudden the highest amount of risk has shifted to the guys with the most money on the line with these banks.

Goldman Sachs GS tests the limits of the English language

deposit-to-equity conversion = theft
read across = periphery contagion, domino effect
public debt held by private hands will be mutualised = theft
winding down of insolvent banks = bankrupt
with all the associated uncertainty = deposit flight by anyone who can fog a mirror
this should be detrimental = Oy
inter-country fiscal transfers in the Euro area remain ... messy... leaving public opinion damaged = theft that doesn’t even require a vote by a “democracy”
we prefer to stay on the sidelines = sell

Yes but the holes in the european banks are huge... so there is no way deposits could be safe... take your money and run before it's too late... that's the game now... Till now we though governements and EU would save us. Now we are on our own... and in the bankers hands...

In Spain, Bankia is going to put *billions* of shares in the market at 1cent/share....!!!

Just funny popular Yiddish expression that some people use.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oy

Kind of like (in degree of usage not meaning) the term "schadenfreude" I keep seeing used lately in various publications. Just something that catches on with some people.

Closed the GLD puts from Friday this morning (10 min into open). 60% profit. I am bullish GLD overall so did not want to risk profits further.
There are no bulls or bears in the market. Only wolves and sheep.
