Here is the issue with VXX, UVXY while still in contango
SDS (bear ETF 2x) in the last bear run went from ~52 to ~61 (purple behind price), while VXX and UVXY were disappointing.
I like the VIX system you guys came up with. Just can't handle the inversion. I have programmed myself to know "VIX down = market higher" and "VIX up = market lower" (generally) so when I see it flipped I have to change it around in my head.Harapa wrote:Welcome to the Club. There is no right or wrong in TA, it is just matter of its utility. Inversion allows to see things that other wise may not be visible. Can you draw a line similar to red trend line originating in Jun 12 time period using VXX price?L_T wrote:I like the VIX system you guys came up with. Just can't handle the inversion. Thanks AD, I'm trying to figure out how to back test VIX front month and back month futures then I can try to figure contango/backwardation. I believe that with this information I can select the appropriate vehicle for a swing trade. I believe that XIV would have been preferable to SSO in the current long. If what I've said previously is invalid how do you (or anyone else) suggest I select the correct ETFAl_Dente wrote:THANKS bossrusrod wrote:Here, boss. When I will see breakdown of this trend line I will be running for covers, if I am long.
