Trades with cats wrote:GE made the 31 cent whisper number. But did you see the write offs from the financing exit. They really see something ugly coming to take those losses now and go back to mostly manufacturing as sales drop. The CEO is very well connected at the White House, don't know how that entered into the decision to exit finance, just say'in.
i was going to comment on GE as well. the way i understood it, they had basically transformed from making stuff and become basically a bank years ago. spinning off their bank aspect seems wierd because....thats what they ARE now. you think something has gone really bad and so they opted to spin it off to get out from under it?
bearish as of SPY 406 on 2/17/23
currently: end bearish as of SPY 406 on 3/6/23
CLO (colateralized Loan Obligations, subprime commercial loans) regs going into effect would make then retain 5% of their paper, couldn't sell it all. I spent a night trying to figure out how to short CLO's, I guess you have to be a big boy. Only four ETFs out there all long, nothing else in the retail sector. Do you want to own retail spacer when we are knocking on the recession door?
i have a dream. Fib 61.8% mm, i'd be happy already.
