Harapa, what makes me think that today's weakness ain't significant are the signals I have on daily/weekly/BP charts: they all suggest that there might be a biggish move in approx 2 weeks, e.g. this daily SPX chart. It is not (yet) drawn precisely, but there is no indication of a strong move at the moment, strong meaning > 2 or 3 percentage points.

No idea... But I think you're asking the wrong question
I'm suggesting that whatever happens now is not very significant, I'm waiting for that next move later in January. But pls note that I'm cash at the moment with only a wee bit of exposure to the upside. Be very careful if you are short. This market is a bull. Doesn't mean the market will shoot to the sky, but it's very tricky territory for the bears.

Scout, are you aware that medium term mometum is pointing to the upside, that short term mom is turning up too? Markets can dip any time, but I don't yet see a signal. Your forecasts are quite bold
