The pattern is ambiguous, need see more bars. It's a little different than the recent past though as by default, I'd expect a gap up huge everyday but looks like now gap down is a little more frequent than before.

SPX 15m

range, wait for breakout/breakdown first. it's testing the range high so the bias is up for now.

VIX 60m .. possible bullish falling wedge.. if not.. yellow... or lower red... and for the bulls.. H&S?.. yellow neckline?.. don't like the H&S in the middle of a move.. better at a "top".

Neutral.

My summation index signal is neutral.
My composite trend signal is up.

Still waiting for a reasonable opportunity to trade. I could go long, short or both depending on what happens. That is not a very helpful thought at the moment I know.
While the various equity indexes are bouncing around chop style, they are each showing a different complexion and character.
I'll be watching to see them harmonize their action for a clue on what to do.
I am also watching the VIX, which candidly is making me more cautious rather than confident as it pushes its lows.

VIX daily... still a sort of open gap from mid Mar 2013*.. close 11.30...almost filled in Dec 2013. larger red 2 yr channel. .. possible blue falling wedge of sorts...fwiw.

INDEX 60m TRANS new highs... not so elsewhere.. VIX is closest to making new lows... *added a possible ascending wedge COMPQ
