This is the reason that I am asking people to get your opinion. Every single site I go, " this is the best software you could have."

Some people like Tos, Ninj Trader, TC 2000, Tradestation, Think or swim, etc.
I have an account with TD Am. and I don't like their set up very complicated.

I am asking pro in here what it works for them before purchasing a sofetware.
I've used several charting programs, and charting sites.
All depends on what you want to do.
A platform/software package is the most powerful, but requires the most time to learn/use.

Ninja = Didn't like it (it's free - you get what you pay for)
Tradestation = very nice, and complicated (IMO)
Esignal software = Rolls Royce of trading.... expensive, complicated but has very nice (expensive) plug-ins, is pretty, and has a great data feed.
Esignal Live Charts = Simple, easy to use, pretty, and fast fast fast. Expensive for just charts (I loved it, but was just to pricey).
Vectorvest = don't get me started. Bad.
Omnitrader = Unique, extensive plug-in system. Data feed not nearly as good as Esignal.
TOS = Don't know, never used it.
Stockcharts.com = Haven't used them, but have only ever heard good things.

Now if you want to go the free route.....
Signalwatch live (very good)
and Freestockcharts (pretty good)

Hope that helps ya

I was wondering what kind of platform could I purchase with real timing? My current scottrade is very slow and it is so obvious that this is way delayed data.
Do you have any suggestion/s?
I know stockcharts.com has some type of real time but the graph needs to click itself every 5 seconds. I don't like intruptions in data.It drives me nuts looking at screen that constantlly changing.

Thanks in advance.
i use tradestation, also use their auto-execute program trading, as well as manual entries... i have 2 accounts and i think they're the best..
their charts are awesome...

I'm already gone, but before I leave I'd like to show the huge resistance that SPX must breach to climb above 1335. Don't think it will happen today, sometime next week?

Tabby,

I am not a professional, however I use ProRealTime charts and have done so for many years. Have written many indicators myself. Has its limitations like all charting packages.

Cobra,

It might be a good idea to have a list of charting providers in the data area of the forum?

T,

Thanks in million. I love stockchart so so many indicators that they have but I can't sit in front of computer that click in ever 5 seconds to produce live data.
currentlly using freestockcharts and I like it but it does not have everything so upgrading it to TC2000. It has some data but I like to see ES Mini and ticks without the delays while I am trading.

I will look into esignal sofware /live charts .

Thanks a lot MR. T

Thanks Travelfrog,
I just don't want buying stuff and finding out that it has limitations.
I find ES with Ticks are very powerful in day trading. I don't trade options or futures but I was in chat room with some professional traders and I could not believe my eyes. I never got chance to ask them what they were using.

Hi Tabby - Stockcharts members get realtime data that auto-refreshes FYI.

Cobra this is my first post but I've been reading and watching for a long time! I've learned the hard way not to trade against you! Thanks for sharing your knowledge with all of us.

Looking at the faily chart of AAPL, I'm seeing 2 black bars (yday and today) signalling exhaustion? Do you think the AAPL gap will get filled soon or a good point to add longs right now . im thinking we should wait for a retrace given AAPL's chart pattern after ER
the general AAPL post ER pattern is shooting high then fall to the ground.
AAPL has been in consolidation recently so I'm not sure "general" is an apples to apples comparison (lol). Of course I'm bias because I bought some today, but aapl any cheaper is then a downright super cheap stock. You don't want to own it with a P/E under 20? Their stores are always packed and their growth has shown no signs of slowing down
