The dance of the sectors. Which are up, and which down, on a given day-- and the growing or decreasing correlations btw them. This is the underpinning of the John Murphy school of intermarket analysis; hints about the underlying economy, and the ebb and flow of strength in currencies, are supposedly obtainable by monitoring these correlations.

Today, regional banks and US smallcaps have been gaining in strength. They both thrive, or at least do OK, in stronger-dollar, higher interest rate environments. Is this an emerging theme? Or just technical mean-reversion in two ETFs...

The algos sure have screwed up simple human psychology.

Even Murphy, in occasional Stockcharts columns, has decried the lack of clear clean correlations these past couple years, especially with useful lead-time for transactions.

I meant that of the 24 targets not hit, it's almost even, 10 downsides and 14 upsides. It's not a one-sided deal.
