I have never seen VXX move anywhere near this much without SPY moving..

Amen to that. I've been messing with TVIX the past few days anticipating a pullback in the market. Well I never got the pullback (yet) but sure did make some money! Insanely lucky. I'll be buying it again early next week, because SPX should be much lower by Thursday-Friday. If SPX pulls back 50 pts, TVIX could easily go to 20 at this rate!!!


Backwardation in the vix futures market is to blame (thank!). Usually VXX/TVIX/UVXY suffer from contango in normal markets so they bleed every day. Finally, they are benefiting for a change.

Sold my last UVXY at $67.7 today thankfully.
Backwardation favoring UVXY going up is weakening.
