In 2001 and 2008 the market rebounded after Coppock sell signals - in 2001 by 50% and in 2008 by 57%. I'm looking at the 2001 pattern here. The market rebounded after the second low and gained 50% of what it had lost in previous months, the rally went on for seven weeks.

My belief: unless something really ugly happens in the next few days/weeks (think any kind of Black Swan) the market will most likely follow a similar path

boss, what you were referring to back in 2001 was after three leg down as my arrow indicate. so far we have two leg down, and the second leg potentially not finished yet.

please also noted the similarity between two shaded boxes.

Yes Eddie, Coppock has not gained strength since it pierced the 0 line approx near the end of January.

Coppock Curve = 10-period WMA of 14-period RoC + 11-perod RoC

WMA = Weighted moving average
RoC = Rate-of-Change
