"It is what it is department" The Volume, highest volume in a long time, what is high volume telling me? the ones that want to sell or buy are all in. what did you do? let the board know.
Daily trend following setup: rip will be sold, RSI is struglling to move above 50 but still fighting to move up. patience!
Swing setup: chops, last sell failed, next dip will be bought. this is common during the consolidation phase. stick to what works.
Intraday: there is mixed signal, leaning bullish, we have a spike/wall at the last 5 min. lots of study about this, keep it simple for me. use fib as a guide in the early morning. for now a weak opening is not ecceptable. the spike must go on. trade well. Peace!

SPY daily.
Forming a trading range.
Sto is up.
MACD is crossing over. Its histogram is up.
It has formed a bottom of sorts.
The bulls are hoping it is onward and upward now.
However, chaos still rules, and the market is unsure. Stocks? Bonds? Gold? Short sales? Inverse ETFs?
GLD and CPER are on a small pullback now.
The bias for this trader is neutral/flat at this time.

Thank you, Cobra and the Board.
In my limited knowledge, I think we might be seeing a green shoot,
which would be consistent with some of the above posts.

jademann,
In the past, from time to time, you used to post your observations in a yearly chart with a MA Envelope(5,25 ema)
For your reference:
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5103
If possible, could you please provide an update?
THANK YOU.

"It is what it is department"
HYG (hi-yield bond etf) is soaring above its 200day sma. Yet SJB, short junk bonds, is also above its 200day, just barely. How is this possible. As a simple inverse, it should be crushed below its 200day by a roughly similar amount. Also, short funds tend to gradually depreciate, from payment of dividends, and costs of maintaining options positions to simulate actual short-shares. SJB is actually showing a kind of relative strength.
If this is truly an anomaly, then is there any meaning to be gleaned from it?

Hey TSF, unfortunately yahoo no longer offer 1 year charts. Try the link just below the old yahoo one-year chart here:
https://sites.google.com/site/stoplosstraders/
To me it says 4800 this year sometime.

This is the 2003 repeat chart, which is still bullish if the sma holds! ie 3500
