Remember the pattern you talked about a few weeks ago where the morning dip always got bought?
Since the 27th, the pattern has been different - I do not have it precisely, but pretty much every day, the high or low has been between 9:30 and 10am and then we have trended all day and made a final extreme in one direction or another between 3 and 4pm:
27th - Low open, high close
28th - Low open, High close
1st, high open, low close
2nd high open, low close
3rd, high open low close,
4th, low open, high close
5th low open, high close
8th: low at 10am, highs in the after hours...
As for today, well we opened high but also have that near 10am low to contend with - so a break is needed of that before the potential high to low pattern could play out.... as yesterday we made that low near 10am and then RALLIED!
I am using the midcaps as a reference, as that is what I trade, so it may be slightly different for SPY.
