goddamn it's good to be on the bulls' side. you don't have to do crap and the market just pops for you...TA told me to cover, but when you're wrong on the bulls' side, "just expand the time frame" is the solution to every trade. -_-

freestockcharts.com saves too small...expand to either 1000x700 or else 1500x1050...it'll keep the aspect ratio the same.

just a pointer if you care...

Hey guys:
Busy day…I built two time spreads:

#1:
Bought AMZN Jan 200 calls
Sold to open AMZN Dec 23 190 calls

#2:
Bought SPY Dec 30, 124 Puts
Sold to open Dec 23, 124 Puts.

==========
I think the opportunity on SPY was quite clear…Thanx Cobra for the valuable hints!
For AMZN…a wild guessing shorts covering worked luckily in my favor…AMZN Chart follows..

Here's the happy VIX chart...lots of resistance...only the weekly showing somewhat of a bounce. It just doesn't want to go up right now.
yeap, lots of resistances.
But max pain dropped from 124 yesterday to 121 today
http://www.optionpain.com/MaxPain/Max-Pain.php

The market is just going to fool everyone, or at least me
? looks like its still 124.... and maybe Cobra doesn't trade options? :? I have scars from max pain, numerous....

I don't have an account so I can't check the 'current pain' chart, bummer.

re max pain-just my experince-i have traded options for 12 years now and this indicator is simply not trust worthy. focusing on strike pin must be done inside the context of the current action--whats' going on. generally from wed of exp week on only. in a sketchy market esp with amped machine trading and futures action peaking--caution is advised as it takes very little to force the market to re balance. so that all of a sudden the outcome inverts by a point or two.

if one must use this stuff--consider the context of the action (wed to fri) and then consider max pain in reference to that. frankly chart reading a 5 min and 15 is safer in my experience.

there is a real desire to find an exact abstract model (wholy grail) but in the end listening very carefully is usually safer. humans amplified by machines are very hard to model using abstractions over periods of time.

good luck

If TRAN holds then bulls have a chance, looking at swing not day trade.

Trying another version of the triangle chart from freestockcharts. It was screengrabbing them a little on the small side. I set it to 1000x800, lets see if this is any better..

Yea, but then the relationship might have worked out and I wouldn't have anything to sing about. ;)

P.S. Thanks Uncle Al
