As of this second $VIX is flat but TVIX, VIXY, and VXX all slightly positive.

Since I know u don’t listen to Bloomberg u missed this jewel:
“This market is just dying to go higher right here”
There u are dude, there’s yr (contrary?) indicator, clear as mud

But let’s ask Mishka: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UfvN7n9k ... ure=relmfu
That is funny. I will have to pay close attention to what my dog is saying now.

I do not think that I shall reenter VIX long today, right before Christmas, unless something dramatic happens.
Coug, always nice to get yr VIX with first coffee
I watch yr yellow envelopes more carefully than acceleration bands, perhaps my mistake as accel band is “faster”??
According to yr Bob, RSI, zero line macd, and 20.39 ish low not revisited, VIX should be heading up any minute/any day now, no?
Yes, it should but do not forget the special Christmas seasonality .
BTW, I entered a long SPY Jan 124 P at opening.

We are right at the top of the SPX triangle.. fehro has a nice depiction of it in his charts.

My impulse is to short right here- I struggled with the decision this morning. But I decided not to for a couple reasons..

1) I'd like to be flat over Christmas and not be thinking about a position

2) Thin holiday volume /santa rally blah blah this is not a "normal" time - even though I think it will play out as normal, i cant be sure, so..

3) I like to put in tight stops at the trendlines in case of a breakout.. which i suppose could happen due to #2 above..
but with the wackiness thats been going on lately, I wouldnt want to get caught having to stop out a point past where I really needed to due to some crazy gap up and run on Tuesday cause everyone is high on eggnog and reindeers

so i guess im sitting this one out, oh well

but top of the triangle + plus that rising wedge... tempting

VIX seasonality crush looks like it is ending... particularly for its derivative instruments...

Here's a view... both SPY and TVIX rising in tandem together. This is now the reverse of the seasonality crush where even when SPY was falling, TVIX was falling even faster.

What this is showing us is that the downside of TVIX is being limited by protection demand but the upside is still wide open. Doesn't mean that it can't go down, but if it does, it will be at a relatively less ratio or rate than normal, and may even end up positive on a positive SPY day.

That's a good risk/reward setup. Might add more if key levels are taken out.

Thanks for reminding us about the report though. Stop is HOD, don't think they'll run it quite yet

I'm watching gold and silver for clues on the other legs, ie dollar/euro and equities. Precious metals look very weak

Yesterday they ate TWO of my neighbor’s cats, it’s a day of mourning in my neighborhood today.
