90% of the board are bearish and TA kind of support short term top, power that be is working hard to ensure that trading is not going to be an easy game, my holiday wish to all just be patience stay light and be nimble, I am shorting FAS nothing else so far down 1% in position and I won't mind to take 1-2% profit from this lot either.

Hey Al, here's your risk on/risk off chart. I got it from a guy called Gold Gerb, think he's been around for quite a while. Any time the $bpspx renko prints red, risk is off.

DBV will have reversal candle today will have to wait for daily MACD Hist. to turn to confirm, not until then but that will be a little late for aggressive position. you see so many people trade TVIX? every 5 min. they smack $VIX down I feel this is so unfair, but life isn't fair isn't it? :?

Here is the VXX. The thick red line is heavy resistance.
It also looks like a bear flag so keep that in mind.

@All

First post.... But visit several times/day and a paying member of this excellent site. :D

I wanted to say thank you all for the education I've gotten over the past few months. I took back control of my investments from a broker who during the worst of times told me to 'be patient' which I learned meant give him more of my money to risk so he could make more..... What a wake up call.

Well, I've learned the #1 rule is "Patience. and more patience". #2 rule is "Don't be greedy". #3 is "Don't cry over spilt milk".... learn from it. Those rules have helped me to earn back some of my investments and I hope to learn much more and ultimately contribute positively to this forum.

So... to all of you, a very Merry Christmas or other holiday (if that is your religion) and a prosperous New Year!

I'm 'in cash' till next week!

Thanks Cobra for your help!

Just wanted to drop you a line and let you know I signed up for your daily report. Best blogger on the internet, there is no doubt. Many out there claiming to be the best. They all have too much ego. Maybe because you are a martian you don't have the same problem. Hope you are getting many subscribers now. Maybe no lear jet, but hopefully you can get a nice new car. Maybe some cool rims like in the rap videos. Just please don't use the funds to support euro bond auctions in 2012.

Really enjoy reading the posts on this board. Some real master traders here. Wish I could daytrade like some of you, but man it's a lot harder than you guys make it look.

Just thought I'd post a chart of the VIX from 2007. You see some similar declines from a percentage standpoint going into the end of the year. Will two periods be the same, never. Does history repeat in the market, all the time.

Merry Christmas to all!

Thanks for all the kind words said. And welcome aboard!

Still long.
Emotionally,I am ready to short.
Mechanical model is on a buy signal and McClellan Oscillator is not yet overbought.

The bull trap scenario continues to take shape.
Chatter about inverse head and shoulders on the risein the media.
Indexes are bumping into a big resistance area, but a breakthrough would open up big upside.
There is a hoard of professionalswho are on the cusp of having a + 2011; they will not be sellers.
There is probably some dry powder lurking for a last push to yearend.
After that, we can resume our regularly scheduled programming.

I will be watching today's close today for a tell. If we get a robust close(traders willing to hold over the long weekend), it bodes well. If not, I may do some hedging.
If we get a surge/gap up anytime in the next few days, I expect to call overbought and move to neutral or short at what should be good prices.
Stops in place in case the turn comes soon.
