Congrats jarbo, yea, I saw you holding bull overnight, right in front of all these bears
Big bowls
Sheesh (I do believe I got “sheesh” from you)
hahaha...yeah.

now i'm debating if i should hold through NEXT WEEK!

MUHAHAHAHA

lots of bearish "proof" out there...but these markets tend to defy proof until bulls/bears can't stand it anymore.

First post.... But visit several times/day and a paying member of this excellent site. :D

I wanted to say thank you all for the education I've gotten over the past few months. I took back control of my investments from a broker who during the worst of times told me to 'be patient' which I learned meant give him more of my money to risk so he could make more..... What a wake up call.

Well, I've learned the #1 rule is "Patience. and more patience". #2 rule is "Don't be greedy". #3 is "Don't cry over spilt milk".... learn from it. Those rules have helped me to earn back some of my investments and I hope to learn much more and ultimately contribute positively to this forum.

So... to all of you, a very Merry Christmas or other holiday (if that is your religion) and a prosperous New Year!

I'm 'in cash' till next week!

Thanks Cobra for your help!
Thanks and welcome aboard!

Happy Holiday!

JB007 wrote:Hi Cobra,

Just wanted to drop you a line and let you know I signed up for your daily report. Best blogger on the internet, there is no doubt. Many out there claiming to be the best. They all have too much ego. Maybe because you are a martian you don't have the same problem. Hope you are getting many subscribers now. Maybe no lear jet, but hopefully you can get a nice new car. Maybe some cool rims like in the rap videos. Just please don't use the funds to support euro bond auctions in 2012.

Really enjoy reading the posts on this board. Some real master traders here. Wish I could daytrade like some of you, but man it's a lot harder than you guys make it look.

Just thought I'd post a chart of the VIX from 2007. You see some similar declines from a percentage standpoint going into the end of the year. Will two periods be the same, never. Does history repeat in the market, all the time.

Merry Christmas to all!

Thanks for all the kind words said. And welcome aboard!

Happy Holiday![/quot
I agree..How about Dec 29,30 and jan 3,4,5..We may see some action.
Some action would be nice. Preferably to the downside. Been slowly adding some cheap puts for next year the last three days. I prefer they not run this up to 1300 plus but not sure at this point.

VXX and TVIX still at highs while SPY is threatening breakout. Might be a bull trap if we break up...

Both SPY and TVIX near HOD...

Both rising in tandem.

Today is Friday. Cobra actually has stats on this. When both VIX and SPX rise together on a Friday, the next week tends to end in RED.

Factor on top of that what seems to be an end to the seasonal VIX crush in Dec. Plus today is not just any ordinary Friday, it's the last trading day before Christmas, a week where the VIX has bottomed out in 5 of the past 8 years.

Might add more TVIX positions into the close. Signs keep pointing to it being a good risk/reward setup.

Check it out in the screenshots.

It looks like yesterday. IWM doesn't wanna rally, SPY does. The difference is KBE (the other bank ETF) doesn't wanna rally either, for now.
