My charts and TA still tells me we have to stay under 1306 for the mkt to stay bearish otherwise the dippers will win..FYI the Dorsey Wright P & F charts did show some red yesterday but lets wait and see. We need follow thru.

Corrective pattern down from last weeks high. Corrective pattern off the ensuing low. Sounds like corrective mode (4th wave?) to me.

Chance for outside reversals in quite a few markets today dependent on closes. Most notable is Copper (HG). Could set the tone for a substantial downside test. TVIX clearing the hurdle of $18.30 on a close would indicate a short term move up especially if volume comes into play later in the day.

TraderGirl...I get a 92% correlation $VIX to TVIX (using the “correlation coefficient” indicator-thingie on stockcharts)

if you look at the pink box, $VIX was flat Nov '10 - Aug '11 but VXX fell from 55 to 22.

I see the wizard has gone short, I am showing short in the next hour !
Tomorrow the negative Mars Venus opposition is direct, so there could be further weakness tomorrow, been reading the lod could be around 1pm, but I will be taking that as possibly a short term buying opportunity into Thurs, maybe Friday....
Does this Mars Venus thing have statistics?

Thinkorswim's service is very good. However, their data feed isn't very fast. If you are a scalper or goes in and out of trades really fast, avoid it. Trading futures there is very expensive as well, 3.5$ per contract and 3.5$ per option

As you'll see below, some animals are more equal than other animals.

I was looking at the hourly 13/34 and itching to go short. But Mr
HFTGuy said he was going to get a strong turn and it did have that
shape or a possible cross back to positive, so I did not add to a small short.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HFTAlert comments:

Opening Read Jan 31:

Signal weight has opened extremely strongly positive at +1961, the
Slope -198 and the Change very strong at +150. At this level of
signal weight we'll get an early slope change up signal within 1.3
bars (Slope/Change=#of bars). I am somewhat surprised to see such
strong signal weight but it is what it is. The bullish pattern
continues.

UPDATE 10:15 I am so irritated! The 10am bar was the result of a
news algo that ran BEFORE the news came out. See my 10am posts at
http://www.stocktwits.com. They ran the price down 1 second before the news
hit, then even more at 10am exactly. A total of a 67 cent range in 1
second! AHHHHH. this is total manipulation and a perversion of the
market.
