'I'm not familiar with what Cougar wrote but I received an e-mail telling me he claimed he could sell his indicators to institutions, but decided to offer them to the public for a pricey admission. With 2000+ PhDs on Wall Street now I am strained to believe that is true.

Being told of anyone making a prediction in both directions is what I think is called a "tout" at a racetrack who looks for a few bucks if the horse comes in. The payoff would be, in this case, selling a service. I cannot conceive of how someone could do such a thing at the track or in the market.'


That's an interesting theory mate, but it would seem to depend heavily on the poster being unknown before doing it. Alphahorn's been well known around the blogosphere for quite a while. That being the case it just sounds like an childish conspiracy theory, of the sort that makes the reader wonder when the writer is going to mention reptilians and the illuminati.

If you're going to try to defend this assertion you should at least ask your friend for the evidence he claims to have for this otherwise absurd attempt at a smear. Repeating things like this doesn't make alphahorn look bad, it makes you look bad. You should get some evidence if you don't want people reading your posts wondering, as I am wondering now, whether you are a troll.

I also thought that my posts were helping some people with their own trades, since, apparently they were pleased and they thanked me. In turn, I thought that I made some friends here and I am grateful for their opinions and help.
But now…some very strange posts have appeared on this blog…Some of them are blatantly offensive…So, here goes the neighborhood…
I wish a good weekend to all my old friends here and good luck with their trades… from now on!

SWalsh Repeating things like this doesn't make alphahorn look bad, it makes you look bad. You should get some evidence if you don't want people reading your posts wondering, as I am wondering now, whether you are a troll.

Jack, ask Cobra if he would allow the evidence posted here. I have one person with the evidence and another extremely reputable individual recalling it being revealed and his not returning to that blog. Maybe you know them both....I don't know, nor do I care. But I do resent the troll comment.

Alternately, I could PM the evidence to you. At that point you would be required to state that yes, it is factual that he was caught giving different mkt opinions on the same day. If you wish to defend someone who I was told not to rely as he could be telling others the opposite opinion, you'll have to agree to state the finding.

Addendum: If the guy is running a blog, which I was told is $1,000 a year when Cobra's is $120,, why is he posting a chart here? Is he a warm and fuzzy guy who helps others, or is HE trolling? (it's a rhetorical question)

We'll take it offline, sure. I'd be happy to look at this evidence if there is any, which as I said, I very much doubt.

Just to respond to the question why would Alphahorn post here, why wouldn't he post here? It's a free country. Both Cobra and Alphahorn link to each other's blogs, just as both link to mine and I link to both of theirs. I post both here and and at Alphahorn's regularly. There's nothing inherently sinister about posting on a blog.

I'm still seeing USO and UCO as weak relative to the broader market. Anyone else want to chime in on that? In looking at the charts I've drawn several mental trend lines and they both have moved below them with either Wednesday's or Thursday's daily bar.

L_T you ever look at the the oil futures chart? /CL and the broader equity index have been diverging a bit...

lots of inventory and socio-political stuff pushing oil prices around...

just something to keep in mind.

I'm not into the futures market at all but I have seen a couple of people mention crude here and going short for a few bucks more.

I've seen the Iranian stuff but I think if that cools off there is also demand decreasing here in the US for oil/gasoline which makes me think oil in general may just slowly slide down for a bit. At least to the next support. Just don't want to take the trade until the rest of the market stops going higher.

IRWD is also a small pharma with Aug on the horizon for their drug (IBD). I could see FRX taking them out to replace much of the pipeline that they lost with Celexa. Unfortunately, IRWD has moved quickly to $15. Sell a few puts or wait for a pull back to the 12.50 area to start playing again.
