SWalsh, you started this whole thing, by posting it publicly. If you never meant for it to go any further, why didn't you PM the person, directly?

What happened to 99er? I don't think I follow what is going on here, but Cougar, I hope you stick around too, no need to leave because of whatever has been said...[/quote]

It's a New Year and I have decided to limit public postings to my new site. Thank you, Cobra, for hosting this venue; there is no better place to share ideas and views on the market. I think is was johnnywa who posted his resistance number at around 1350-1355. That is what I have on this long term chart, met resistance there many times in the past. Looks like we could rally into Jan 8/9th then we might get a bigger correction than anyone expects...??

I disagree strongly with the order to stop the public discussion between Walsh and Springheel. Walsh made a serious, and possibly slanderous, accusation against a respected blogger, and Springheel called him on it. I think we deserve a full accounting of the facts.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around today's moves. The better than expected jobs report is telling the market that interest rates will rise sooner than 2014, so as a result, GLD and TLT are down -- higher rates reduce the appetite for treasuries and gold.

Higher rates should however boost the dollar, but USD/CAD is falling instead, while the SPY rises, in what are typical signs of risk-on. But dollar weakness/risk on without gold participating? That seems odd.

Being told of anyone making a prediction in both directions is what I think is called a "tout" at a racetrack who looks for a few bucks if the horse comes in. The payoff would be, in this case, selling a service. I cannot conceive of how someone could do such a thing at the track or in the market.'

That's an interesting theory mate, but it would seem to depend heavily on the poster being unknown before doing it. Alphahorn's been well known around the blogosphere for quite a while. That being the case it just sounds like an childish conspiracy theory, of the sort that makes the reader wonder when the writer is going to mention reptilians and the illuminati.

If you're going to try to defend this assertion you should at least ask your friend for the evidence he claims to have for this otherwise absurd attempt at a smear. Repeating things like this doesn't make alphahorn look bad, it makes you look bad. You should get some evidence if you don't want people reading your posts wondering, as I am wondering now, whether you are a troll.
I reported this post to Cobra as inaccurate and offensive. Here is why:

This post propagates a slander about me. It spreads a lie, of unknown and dubious origin. I did nothing like that. I do not sell and do not plan to sell anything to anyone! I am not a salesman, and I was posting here only for my own fun…
For almost one year I enjoyed Cobra’s excellent posts and I wrote about that many times.. I also thought that my posts were helping some people with their own trades, since, apparently they were pleased and they thanked me. In turn, I thought that I made some friends here and I am grateful for their opinions and help.
But now…some very strange posts have appeared on this blog…Some of them are blatantly offensive…So, here goes the neighborhood…
I wish a good weekend to all my old friends here and good luck with their trades… from now on!
Hi, Cougar, please stay. What's going on? I didn't read someone said it's you who are selling indicators...

The conversation in here got twisted.

In one conversation in past, Cougar stated that Alphahorn has secerte indicators and I was stating that Cougar was right about that statement. I don't see any lables next to his ( Alphahorn) indicators on stockcharts.

99er now has a members only (payment required) site. I think the cost is $100/month for access to his charts.
