Why is ES down so much more than spy cash?
Blue=5dma
/ES not down more, just different data point since it trades much more.(number of ticks/bars in comparison to cash spx.)

nice job bulls, but you are only giving me better entry prices on my short position that I am starting to agressively build. This is against the trend so I do not recommend unless you can deal with the potential for losses and you do not know how to manage stops.

for fun let's assume that is so. in that case we might look at the key intro dates of products (march and july) as possible clues. again not to press this idea too much but the 50% fib of the qqq entire decline is around (plus minus) 70 we are at 65 and we have generally stalled and dipped at these fib lines. and the prior (weekly range) flips there. if they ram things into the end of the quarter or start of april earnings--we could actually get there.

in theory maybe the galaxy (assuming it's actual existence)is located at the 50-62% fib of the whole decline. Bottom line is cobra is certainly right at this point--and being predictive is sketchy--but we see a whole lot of focus on one stock that is now worth more than Poland (at +500 billion) and people are discussing the idea of it being worth 1 trillion.

Does anyone understand why TVIX and VXX do not follow VIX more closely on a daily basis? For example, VIX is up today while VXX is down -2.35%.

Green? that will no surprise me at all, wait 15-20 minutes from here we should get some sort of intraday sell signal, from there we shall see. price level intraday if bears are serious, the turn down should start here (137.5) but I'll wait for other indications to sell.

AAPL is an outstanding company, however the stock looks parabolic. Most stocks will fall when a correction happens, even AAPL will pull back, and that will really
move the indices downward. AAPL is like Atlas, holding up the Earth. I would not short AAPL, but I'm looking at QID. jmho

Thanks...great article explaining why none of us will be doing this is 2-4 years. They are talking less than nanoseconds now. The mkt is quickly becoming who can jump the slower guy's order first. Trading ideas are obsolete. It's how fast you can get into the other guy's pockets. I seem to think that ultimately, investors will leave (many have already left) and they can televise "HFT Poker" on ESPN.

http://www.businessinsider.com/60-of-tr ... orm-2012-2
(in part)

"Hibernia Atlantic is building a $300 million trans-Atlantic cable to cut data transmission 6 milliseconds compared to Global Crossing. Spread Networks just linked Chicago to New Jersey with a high-speed connection. And if anyone figures out how to bore straight through the Earth, you can be sure they’ll have customers. Eyebrows are raised particularly when exchanges themselves sell low-latency links. Nasdaq’s co-location business has been under regulatory scrutiny since 2009, and the NYSE is seeking special permission from the SEC to sell more co-lo. Others can’t help wondering if this game is rigged. Are some competitors being kept away from fast links? And do some others get a cross-connect a few feet shorter, and few slices of a second faster in even the best locations? Many of these complaints are spurious, but can’t be totally dismissed. Markets thrive on confidence and transparency, and when people suspect cheating, they stop playing."

$300 million for six milliseconds!
Cesspool America is going to just love the growing disparity of incomes as one can read on that page about well-educated, hard working people who have lost jobs and are now on welfare.

If anyone thought America had a Manifest Destiny I think this was the last nail in that coffin. Because while some might call this wizard technology that pays the best programmers, what this really should be called is high-speed theft. Imagine if those people actually went into manufacturing and gave us a competitive edge?

I keep thinking back to Grasso's appearance on one of the financial networks (MSNBC I think) saying to rip them all out. 12 hours later that video was not available.

Thanks

apparently you can get a order map to see where buy and sell orders are internally. pretty amazing stuff - there were a whole lotta sell orders just above 87 and then at 87.50...guess where aud/jpy just went up to?

here's the order map from last night.
That funny in that divulging orders used to be a felony, although they never prosecuted anyone unless tangentially with a far larger crime.

very strong rebound, that's why I said a moment ago, I wasn't sure if we'd see a lower low today. The chart below is what I thought, well, again NORMALLY!
