Walsh: I don't understand ..... at 12:25 we had the HOD and that blip appears right after 12:25 --- then from 12:25 on we have a sell -off (law of unintended consequences?) Or are "they" manipulating the market down now?SWalsh wrote:One lone ping by Benny and The Lloyd, for no one has the money to do that but one of the HFTs (HFTs are a privileged class of a mere few hooked right next to the exchange servers while thousands of Algos that trade are not directly next to the exchange servers and some are paying hundreds of millions of dollars for 6/100,000 of a second more speed to compete). And I don't believe, and particularly after reading "Dark Pools", that lone pings (stuffs) occur except in the case of the M for MANIPULATION button gets pushed.
As to the "buying of time", I read an article last night where in more than half the days of July-Dec 2011, GS made $100,000,000 or more trading. So you can see why trading firms in Chicago and other distant locations are laying lines through mountains in a straight line to try to get a piece of the money from mutual funds as they trade. The Law of Unintended Consequences is going to be a bitch some day, which is why when a financial analysts spoke of it in April on the John Batcherlor syndicated show on WABC the podcast was stripped of his appearance. If anyone reading this escaped from Cuba, I wonder what you think we are seeing here. My Ukrainian friends say a nightmare, and Miami doctors are prescribing a lot of Valium (really) to older Cubans who say this encroaching police state reminds them of Fidel's rise to power. I bring that up as who can you complain to about this when DOJ is loaded with top people from white collar crime law firms. These are all little things this "transparency" president doesn't want you to know, like his college grades. Is there an HFT Czar yet? To make sure the market is orderly, of course.

I have divergences as strong as I have ever seen that my rules tell me I cannot go long against because I have gone against them on a feeling too many times only to find a vacuum awaits my attempted exit. I'm looking for a move down and a corrective bounce to put a long-term short position on based on wave counts and what they are saying.rc1269 wrote:all the bad headlines done for the day, still breaking through the morning high. i see no reason why we can't just gring up to 1281-1285 with ease
