My satisfaction always came from beating the market, solving the puzzle. The money was the reward, but it was not the main reason I loved the market (Jess Livermore)
You know what's bad, man? Being dead, that's what's bad, man.
Being dead, you can't eat any cookies. You sure can't bake any cookies for anybody else so they can tell you how great your cookies are.
You can't go swimming, you can't throw a football, you can't hug and kiss your significant other, you can't screw up some recipe by putting in too many herbs, or too much salt.
Being dead sucks. You can't dig yourself out of it. You can't plant a flamingo on your own grave, even if you think there should be one there.
You can't even get down on yourself for not composiing your first symphony.
Unless Apple comes up with a new device, there's not a person here who's gonna be alive in 100 years. Maybe not in 50 years? Maybe a couple.
The stock market is the worst video game you'll ever play. Do something else now and then. Go for a walk in the park, eat a fantastic burrito, make french toast for breakfast. It's a lot easier than second guessing the annoying assholes who run the joint.
Oh, yeah, and don't listen to any gurus. They'll scream to the high heavens when they're right. And when they're wrong, expect them to pretend it never happened, but for all their friends to crawl out of the four corners and talk about how great they are, and how stupid you are for not following your own advice.
It's a cool world, isn't it? Maybe we could bullshit each other a little bit less, I dunno, might save some time.
You don't like this? Shouldn't have read it, then. Wouldn't have been able to if you were dead. Welcome.
