I totally agree with the above. If this is in fact the ending of the Secular bear, I'm hoping next year is our 1982 and then it gets fun again!

Many of you will look at this chart and say that it is ugly and it doesn't fit. I agree but it is all I see right now. Sometimes ugly works.

the overall chart pattern, looks bullish though. you can read it as ascending triangle.

I sold it earlier for a 2.1% gain. I might rebuy it if it busts yesterday's low.

I didn’t have time to check and see if these dates on massive corporate-debt issuance correspond to SPY tops or bottoms

Al- I dont' think you can draw any conclusions from single day issuance. A lot drives the calendar, such as where the mkt has been recently, all in rates, earnings timeframes, and big deals (like UTX $9.8bn new issue on 5/24/12)

Green lines corresponds to your dates.
A good long term buy point. More appetite for corporate bonds more trust in corporations.
