I don't know what pattern it is now. The trend is up so we'll have to always give bulls more credit. FOMC rate decision announcement at 2pm ET, the market usually up until noon then wait until 2pm then roller-coaster show, usually 3 up or down up or down, the first 2 push usually false. FOMC day usually close not strong relative to the day high of course.

This SPY going up story is realy boring now. Fortunately, XLF that I'm shorting is stuck in a trading range in the last 2 weeks. I see dollar is easing some today. Darn, my limit buy orders din't triggered on gold and miners yesterday yet.
