Don't see a pattern, so I'm neutral. It's at the low end of channel, so a rebound might be more likely?

Ugh. I kept desperately trying to buy SPY for the past 15 minutes but my brokerage account web page just kept hanging......meanwhile the price kept going up. lol

Do not buy in the middle of a waterfall!

I couldn't get in! It already shot higher anyway. Maybe some other time.

No, I tried to go long at the bottom. They refused to sell to me and the price just kept going up into the close. I gave up because the bargain was gone.

Regarding buying in the middle of a waterfall, as Cobra just pointed out, we're near the bottom of a channel. To me, that is not where you should be afraid to go long. That is where you should be looking for a long entry. When you are at a channel top, that's where you might be afraid to go long.

My summation signal turned down yesterday.
My composite trend signal is up but got whacked yesterday.

We have gotten quite close to the minimum target for this NYMO down cycle, but I am inclined not to say close enough.
Reaching target does not rule out further downside; the model just says the index should go down at least this far.
NYMO itself is progressing toward oversold. If a downtrend is just getting going here, it would not be unusual to see a bounce to around zero before proceeding to oversold (not required though).

My summation signal turning down tees up some short setups for me.
I'll plan on honoring them, but these trades have not been particularly productive in this bull market so far...
