TOS is down so I am handicap this weekend, I know many of us here shorting/sell short/short etfs, be nimble, there will be one more bull trap so take the most out of it. I will check some more intraday once TOS is back on line some time tomorrow. OK, now it's your turn, give me some love with your charts.

spooky Dr. Copper shows the way.

Are updated weekly charts trying to tell us something?
Maybe yes, since the drop did not stop in the middle of nowhere...

SPY (on 130) min) is at a critical level.
IMHO: right now, 118.56 acts as an attractant, while the zone of the previous low invites to a later double bottom.

Wish I had time to post but must help wife put on a supper for guests. Have some interesting observations to make. I think if different methods start concurring, then we may have something. Later, thanks for charts BullBear and cougar.

SLV’s moves are relatively independent of the moods of other precious metals and an entire literature was recently dedicated to its “fractals” and internal analogies….
Here, a 140 trading days cycle suggests that a trough was in and that the correction which just started might take the price higher.
Q = What will SLV do when it touches the gap just above the present price?

PALL (Physical Palladium), in my opinion, is the most “technical“ of all precious metals, as illustrated in this previously posted and now updated 130 min chart:

Eye candy for the week. Always wanting to consider both sides of the coin, here is a possible bullish intermediate term view. Notes are on image.

I've been paying attention to FCX. I mishandled the sell point; got out with minimal gains.
The chart below compares FCX to IWM. The formula is IWM price * 60 / FCX price. The time is 5/28/10 to present. High numbers in the chart mean that FCX Is weak relative to IWM (Russels).

Image

As you can see to the far right, the numbers turned south, meaning the FCX got stronger these past few days.

BREAK

Regarding the thesis that the bottom is in, evidence is in the chart below comparing Germany to Brazil.

Image

The formula is EWZ price * 32 / EWG price. The time is 3/4/10 to present. High numbers mean EWG (Germany) is weak, relative to EWZ (Brazil). On the far right, the peak (Germany is weakest) occurred on 9/9/11. Falling numbers mean Germany has been getting stronger, relative to Brazil.

The caveat is FCX & Germany can always lose their strength & world markets can continue to dump. I'm keeping an eye on RSX (Russia) & HAO (China small-cap); they haven't gotten stronger. Image
