Make a new day high in the next couple of bars then it'd be an early sign of an uptrend day.

Intraday: new swing high, it is bullish bias, overlapping is a sign of weak sauce, but not the reason to sell. I will not counter trend down until I cansee a clear LL.

Double top usually doesn't work so I'll need see the blue line is taken decisively first.

On Twitter Julie Wade was giving out free info from her service. 6975 is the level of both the put and call walls today. She adds 5 points for volatility so 6980 area for the dealer pin. Said the straddle is 42 points plus or minus from that 6975 level.

That 6980 level has been pretty much the center of the 10 point range we have traded for the last hour and a half plus. I am guessing not a whole lot of volatility until the Wednesday after lunch fireworks.

In stead of double top, it's triple top now at the best for bears. However triple top has been rare therefore now breakout on the upside actually is a little bit more likely.

Lots of uncertainty these days. Thus the spike in gold.

Failed attempt to break out.

This morning Julie Wade posted on twitter looking for subscribers. Her system shows the put and call walls at 6975 today. She adjusted for volatility and called it 6980. Also she said the spread was 42 points = and - around the call wall.

My opinion is that options market moved up post expiration. Early globex panicked over Friday's NY Fed signal of future intervention in the Japanese currency market and of course everything else. As we moved towards the US Cash open everybody was buying the dip. When we hit the call and put wall dealer hedging probably stopped and now here we are waiting for Wednesday's after lunch fireworks.

How far ahead should we look?

Not too far, says this trader.

Normally we expect the market to move up.

Other than that, it seems to take a serious change, economic news, et cetera, to bring about a serious move down.

So, looking at January, as a barometer for the year, I see mixed results, mostly range action.

It will take some very heavy lifting to break out over the top. Ir might happen eventually.

And re the downside, the market is very resilient. It seems to roll with any kind of punch. War. Tariffs. Chaos on the streets. The market shrugs and keeps on chugging. After all, the funds need to park their money somewhere.

So I would not get too excited or discouraged. Focus on the short term.

Just in my opinion. Others might see it differently.

Upper line on the new channel looks solid. Waiting for the market to decide on the lower side! Little brown lines in the bottom pannel are seconds per bar. Higher the line lower the volume.
