The machines are keeping things in a range despite the A/D favoring a momo down day.

this is hourly (/ES) I was talking about, failed the last Pos D. new low from here is unacceptable.

My plan is chop till FOMC then wave down 1760-50? (SPX) and bottom of some kind there

on cash SPX/SPY I want to see next Pos D. to make it, last stand for the bulls if this one fail, we should see it today or tomorrow.[/quote]


Same page agree, I see many possibilties here both are expecting some kind of bottom in coming days, then either 3waves back or new highs, too early to say tho so I am watching and waiting for good R/R setup

We all have probably experienced the frustrations of trading on an FOMC day, you know, put in a stop limit order and a stop, then have them both execute, and then the market finally goes in the direction that would have made you a profit

Anyways, the currency crosses don't appear to favor a bullish turn this morning, even though some of the technicals appear to favor at least a minor bottom here - comments?

more pullback from here would mean the rebound would fail eventually even though it might have another push up, so bulls must hold here.

which direction would it go if fed taper 10million as normal?

Personally, I am waiting for a good entry point into the gold miners. For GDX, for example, the 10-week is still below the 20-week which
could mean 'slope of hope'. However my back-testing software with a Gibbs sampler algo is giving me a buy on the weekly candlesticks...
I was going to jump in (yesterday might have been a good entry point --- they've gapped up today ....) but an announcement by the Fed
to taper significantly might well 'monkey-hammer' gold, so .... I'm waiting patiently with my finger near a few triggers. (including DUST if
the Fed screws the pooch.)
