Cobra - why is the 2/24 post at the top of the blog list today - I'm easily confused and so I had to check my calender!

SPX needs to clear 1332ish to confirm the resumption of uptrend - Looks good to me. bears skinned again.

Dow bounce right off the channel on cue - bear meat continues to be on Ben's menu.

Maybe too early to say, but I couldn't help thinking that the market is not as strong as it appears as too many shadowed bars there.

I think using daily charts for perspective is important when determining what the shorter time frames may be indicating -

this spx chart show that a breakout here measures up to just below 1400 - if we breakout my guess is that momentum carries past 1400 (the June target I discussed yesterday). End of May will be interesting.

Oil price shadows? As long as the Middle East/North African issues are in flux, there is a huge shadow looming over the US recovery.

Gap up, 10:30am ET new intraday high, so 90% chances today close > open. But still today doesn't feel like a strong uptrend day SO FAR.

Me XMan - I learned my lesson june/july 09. Shorting this market is silly since August. Soon shorts will work but only for a little - this market will trade at 07 highs before it collaspes.

OK you bulls out there don't get to happy... We still have to get by the 1325/1327 area and hold...Then the 1333 area next...So far the mkt can't break past 1327 and hold. You bulls and 1400+ are brave.I would not buy long right now. I am not all Bear ,I just try and follow the Mkt.

And how are you getting that "feel" Cobra?

I see spx at 1325. It hasn't hit 1328. if it closes here and waits till tomorrow then breaks and closes above, the bears are dead for 3 weeks. Just my take.

Today's range estimate is 1313-1329. I think the market is about to drop into the 1260-70 zone but a close on Friday above 1322.25 would negate this conclusion. In any case once this reaction is complete I expect to see new highs for the bull market. That is what I'm basing this on.

A strong up day shouldn't like this. I cannot say the exactly words, just a feeling. I might be wrong.

Edit: Just wanted to add that the market feels weak, even with the new high - volume low? Should have been enough to push us up, and keep on going, without the long consolidation, mid-morning.
