SPY fwiw.. not sure what to do about that spike.. but lines up..

I noticed Cobra isn't posting SPY charts, probably because there's that big ugly spike still on it.

Yet, according to ZH those were real trades that were not broken.

for JB.. lower red stronger support.. possible messy cyan triangle.. for a bunch of chop.. but right now still have a H&S on the 15m.. chart.. that targets lower lows than 2006/7 lows.. fwiw. *updated closer view.. of "triangle" .. far from clean

Very interesting chart pattern noted by TOM...per his blog. It has very good performance stats. And, it can be seen in loads of places in market now. I have calculated 222.747 on SPY and SSO which shows approx up at 148.675.

Santa Claw watch. ***this pattern is not a chart for buy only crew*** Grinch chart. we can not look at this chart for failure and say Ho ho ho at the same time, Mama don't like that

Intraday = Buy.
Mid to long term = Sell.
Time frame is clear and here pick the best line for those time frames. Last trading day for me this year, Peace and prosperity new year to all.

Silver futures like to rally from mid-Jan to April. If the signal comes I won't hesitate.

Mulling over a daydream I had this morning.

One possible scenario ahead is to get wedgie.
Blue Orange lines (a little hard to see) on chart provide a view.
Perhaps we get a bullish set of zigs and zags between here and sometime through January.
Just a thought. Something to watch. Action around wedge resistance could be telling.

The problem with a long here is that the distance to wedge resistance or even to the upper Keltner does not provide me an asymmetric reward to the risk (a corrective test toward the middle keltner).
A pull back of some sort could be interesting. This bull has made a habit of running lately making a good entry tough though. We'll see.

In this article there is an important point:

The surge in Phillips 66’s net profit came largely from significant improvement in the Refining segment as well as from its Marketing and Specialties segment. The company said the increase was due to higher realized refining margins driven by lower crude prices. You can find more in-depth details on this and the 3Q earnings here .

So, this business can actually benefit from low oil prices and should theoretically have no ties to the price of oil (it's a refiner). Seems like a huge mispricing and mistake by the market to punish it for the oil drop.
