Running total

Leave 52% Remain 48%

If one personifies the UK, it seems to this observer that it is an unwise decision. Short sighted. Misplaced values. Free fall.

It seems to me that this will affect the UK in a negative sense more than it will affect the EU in a negative sense. I think the EU will be able to pretty much shrug it off.

One analyst on bbc suggests that the financial markets underestimated the likelihood of Leave winning. Agreed. For myself, it is kind of like doubting that they could be so stupid. LOL

Just IMO ...

https://www.nyse.com/markets/nyse/trading-info

Specifically, the circuit-breaker halt for a Level 1 (7%) or Level 2 (13%) decline occurring after 9:30 a.m. Eastern and up to and including 3:25 p.m. Eastern, or in the case of an early scheduled close, 12:25 p.m. Eastern, would result in a trading halt in all stocks for 15 minutes. If the market declined by 20%, triggering a Level 3 circuit-breaker, at any time, trading would be halted for the remainder of the day.

A Level 1 or Level 2 halt can only occur once per trading day. For example, if a Level 1 Market Decline was to occur and trading was halted, following the reopening of trading, the NYSE would not halt the market again unless a Level 2 Market Decline was to occur. Likewise, following the reopening of trading after a Level 2 Market Decline, the NYSE would not halt trading again unless a Level 3 Market Decline were to occur, at which point, trading in all stocks would be halted until the primary market opens the next trading day.

incase we need it

This is just insane. This will be a huge GAP down... probably keep going down for all of next week.

Cobra, any chances of any small bounces from this waterfall?

Cobra, has there been a $10 gap down on SPY ever before? What is the maximum gap down on the SPY ever?

if the vote result is leave, tomorrow center banks will inject huge money, so the market will be gap down go higher but the go higher probably is a good sell (not saying sell tomorrow though). This bear shall have legs if futures hold till tomorrow open!

it's will trigger circuit breakers soon.

Under the revised rules approved by the SEC in 2012, market-wide circuit breakers kick in when the S&P 500 Index drops 7 percent (Level 1), 13 percent (Level 2), and 20 percent (Level 3) from the prior day's close.

A market decline that triggers a Level 1 or Level 2 circuit breaker before 3:25 p.m. will halt market-wide trading for 15 minutes, while a similar market decline "at or after" 3:25 p.m. will not halt market-wide trading.

CME Group U.S. equity index price limits (and corresponding CME and CBOT rules) are designed to coordinate with circuit breakers provisions as applied by the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).
7%, 13%, and 20% price limits are applied to the futures fixing price and are effective from 8:30 a.m. CT – 3:00 p.m. CT. Mondays through Fridays.
5% up-and-down limits are effective 5:00 p.m. - 8:30 a.m. CT. Sundays through Fridays; and 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. CT, Mondays through Fridays. Between 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. the 5% price limit will not be allowed to breech the 20% daily limit.

Now comes the mess.

Must negotiate the exit terms. Ouch. Do not expect an easy divorce.
