straight up/down is rare. I am still in my position this morning, I called it a hero lot. SSO at 41.9, where is my uncle when I need him?
Strong rebound, BAC top bullish lol. Was watching TZA this morning then started looking at it upside down (TNA). Now watching upside down again. http://www.ise.com/WebForm/viewPage.aspx?categoryId=126

I have to give it to you man. You always a trend hater. :)

So you believe in the VIX huh? Me too but can't pull the trigger yet. SPX reaches a lower low but VIX has not reached a higher high. I remember someone told me that you can take that to the bank.
The Vix is going to explode in the next few days. The point and figure chart is ready to break out of a triangle formation and spike to the yearly high.

Cobra, I would appreciate it if you would mention target price when target is below chart lines.
that'd be: 119.47 - ( 120.35 - 119.47 ) = 118.59.

Looks like we're on the way to the target, the selling so far is strong, so the first rebound attempt would fail, be careful bottom fish here.

Also could be 118.43, the 50% Fibonacci for October Range

I still have my short lot small 20% since last week, that's not trend hater, I am most of the time trend follower, hell no this is bottom, but you don't know that either what if it is? :? look at daily RSI (5) TOS chart reading <10 time to shop but be nimble, I will not cover my short lots until I can find reliable bottom pattern.

they are trying hard with this euro intervention...but the equity market seems to be taking little notice. if the fx market leads, then we should get a big pop in equities at some point as long as people don't fade this eur/usd move.

I shorted at 1285, covered at 1230. Shorted last week at 1265 and still holding. But I play very very little always.
My motto is go big or go home. :)

Get rich or put a pistol in your mouth. That's the rockefeller way of trading my friends. :)
LOL...Tried all that and lost way too much. Get rich slowly. 3$ trader joe wine is fine with me.
I ignoring the pistol part but considering the idea of playing large--maybe it's a matter of timing. Soros would be a good example of a guy who messed around setting things up--and then pushed very hard at key moments. For example we have had 2 nice bottoms in this bear and it would not be at all surprising to see a third one--flipping the trade every 100% on the way up using options or leverage of some kind--makes a lot of sense. But the events when one should push hard are maybe 5-10% of the time (depending on how you define them) in any given market. the other say 90% of the time staying awake--locking in gains and watching for an ideal set up is the key.

sometimes traders think that taking action makes them money--but usually it is sitting either waiting for the shot--or waiting in the position after the shot.

good move cobra--this really makes sense for everyone. many of the readers want to give something back in terms of money as well as the ideas they are putting out there. let's pick the path of least resistance for everyone--esp you. please let us know how this turns out--it will be interesting to see how people react. thank you.

So I think I’m using windows explorer 7, and I use the “tools” that auto-open 8 tabs on start up.
Problem is that each tab opens at 200 - 300% zoom (no matter how many times I reset the tools), and I have to manually CTRL – (minus) each tab to get it to 100% proper view.
Is there any easy fix for “old” technophobe Al here?
PS: I have my firefox/godzilla icon right there on my desktop, all installed and ready to go, but haven’t used it yet, am weary of more uphill learning curves… is firefox worth the effort? Specifically does firefox lock-up/freeze less than three times a day?
PPS: I’m already upgraded to the biggest ram-thingie and loaded for bear with max internet connection service, etc, nothing more to upgrade there…
Thanks very much in advance for yr help
Your using explorer?! That's garbage, I recommend you use firefox. The switch is quite easy, it's a better user interface. :)

....This is the one chart that scares me....not the cleanest patterns... more like a double bottom base? cup with handle?

We're all traders here, so all the decision made should be based on odds. It's a little tricky right?
