What is your take on gold here? TIA
Bullish.
GLD broke out above MAE(55, yellow) and is now headed for the 160.5 zone.

Don't trade GLD or SLV but I look at them, I see green shoots on them too.

please understand that what i wrote only notes a few points. mostly i tried to stick to the stuff i think was weak or at least should be considered. So there is a lot more to brooks stuff and it's well worth reading. or scanning at least if you are short on time. this is one of the best books i have seen in 15 years of trading.
OK thanks.

Just from the stuff Cobra has up about the first book it looked like the real deal i.e. he actually gets into super-fine detail. That's the kind of thing I was looking for. Looks like you are giving the thumbs up to the 2nd book (with 2 more on the way correct?) so I'll probably pick up a copy. Thanks.
L_T

yes i see 3 books on amazon. the three books cover much of the same stuff that the first one did--in more detail. and hopefully cobra is right and they are easier to read. but i didn't actually read them and don't intend to unless someone posts some stuff here that really shows a need to.

my concern is that "the strength of a thing is also it's weakness". so the key idea is detail is fine as long as it is boiled down to something easy to work with. from here on out my effort on 5 min is to focus on the trends--try to chill and save energy everywhere else. and to cut intra day trades down in number and try to really focus on quality. i created a rhyme using brooks stuff on trends at the core.

smile and listen ("smile" means start with level head/sink the breath-- "listen" from pushing/sticky hands in soft Chinese forms--so to feel sense-esp intent)
one feature at a time (climbing story--a guy has to crawl on 2 broken legs for 5 days--so he just really focuses on 3 feet in front of him his life depends on it)
take the trend
take any way into trend
fast trend/fast in--slow trend slo in
keep the trend till the end

it worked today as i got in when it was fast this morning--but i was out just under this high so i still need to work. i went to the beach for several days and walking along repeated this 1000x to myself in an effort to focus on getting trends and keeping in them. the new idea--has to be stronger than my bad habits.

I never looked into the Phantom bar myself seriously, but Cobra and many cohorts here have faith on it. Can any body point me some underlying analysis of the phantom bar, or any proven empirical results.

would you please guide us to the secret one more time?:)

Too bad, I'm not the one who found the Phantom bar rule, If I were the one, I should charge for good money.
that Phantom bar target most likely be the target in the next few days. I don't remember when it failed to work. It's just a theory, saying the Phantom bar isn't a wrong trade, big guys did trade to that level in the dark pool (behind us) so the target is almost guaranteed to be met. I won't read too much into this of course, for fun only.

Happy Holidays all. I'm going to take some time off from charting during the holidays. (Will still be reading though in an effort to stay up-to-date.) Have a great, and hopefully profitable as well, holiday season, and I'll see you around next year.

The issue is now to determine what type of bottom is in place
