I think the pattern is more likely a descending triangle than Symmetrical Triangle. doesn't matter, as both triangles are continuation pattern and sometimes they do work as reversal pattern, so we'll have to wait for the breakout.

It's about time everyone sees your watermark LOUD and CLEAR
yes, I'll make sure what I said very clear.
And this also means in most cases, I'd say something like this: it probably will go ___, but ___, so we'll have to wait and see.
no, no, I meant your LOGO watermark BIG on one of the last charts, so creeps can't steal your work and call it their own
Oh, thanks.

We are right at the descending triangle trend line now- let's see if the bulls have enough to break through (less likely) or if they will get batted down (more likely).
Cobra wrote:triangle? still pretty much no clue about the market. one thing is certain, the trend is down, so consolidation is generally not good for bulls.
a heck of a market, too many divergencies, but in the end the trend is your friend and this is probalby lower...
The more likely outcome prevailed.. batted down. They gave it a good fight though.
Time is running out for the bulls in the descending triangle... they need to get a rally going and get it going soon, or they will be staring at a swift elevator ride down.

heavens: you used the F word. There are children here.
IMHO freestockcharts is really worth the effort, it can go so much deeper than you first think.
You just have to endlessly adjust scaling, and save carefully so they don't dump your hard work, and etc etc
Any chance you can share how you scale your charts in freestockcharts.com? This is an area I feel I still need work on. Daily and hourly are my preferred timeframes.
With your chart in view:
>price >more scaling
then instead of default scaling choose MANUAL
then tinker with top/bottom till you force them to submit
use spy or whatever as a baseline chart
when other stocks whip around too much they flatline or disappear until you scale them back into view
but daily and hourly are the easiest to scale, it's the 1m and 5m that are tricky

Just in case there was any doubt, SPY got the emphatic double beat-down back into the descending triangle... it's time now for the bulls to show what they got or get ripped to bits by the bears. Do they have a trump card hiding up their sleeves? Maybe, but again, chances are that they don't.
Yeah, it's like asking a question Bloomberg or CNBC girls? who's better looking and younger? no need two eyes to see where to find good looking reporters.

"The crude oil complex experienced a volatile and choppy trading session this morning. Prices came under heavy selling pressure earlier on growing fears that Greece may default. This pressured October crude oil down more than $2.00. However, prices managed to rebound as they drafted support from a rebound in US equity markets. There also seemed to be a level of support following a downside reversal in the US Dollar. Meanwhile, US product markets seemed unaffected by reports that a significant oil refinery operation in Texas was taken down over the weekend for maintenance. Some traders indicated that might be due to ample short term supplies. "
