Probably back-office trades that are needed to give a certain wife of a president money as they moved on from futures!Mr. T wrote:SWalsh wrote:Are you thinking that not only do they not care what we think of their manipulation, but that at times they will tease us so that we might operate in those and sometimes they work, and sometimes they don't, therefore making us completely neurotic?KENA wrote:Premkt P bars do not work out very often but I have one today and this is where SPY stopped today right on premkt P Bar low..
IOW, do you think this is a purposeful attempt to mess with people's heads?
Some data services show them - some don't.
I'm wondering if the data is scrubbed by the service providers themselves, or if some just have exposure to deals done on the side and it "leaks" by accident (or design).
some pre or after market pbars are just market makers settling up trades from earlier in the day that may have been missed by accident. the intraday ones i find more useful for trading purposes.SWalsh wrote:Probably back-office trades that are needed to give a certain wife of a president money as they moved on from futures!Mr.

I find it hard to imagine we set a red candlestick this large. The Nikkei & Hang Seng set a red candlestick, but India & Europe set a white one.stucap wrote:hypothetically, if i was short, where would you recommend placing a stop? all opinions welcome.Cobra wrote:rebound looks weak.
Is that not close to a 1.0 correlation (aside from their spread movement) as one is price and one is yield?KENA wrote:For the TLT fans here is a P&F chart showing TLT getting stronger and 30 yr bonds weaker.

The DAX doing well also.
Cobra, if you please - I'm sure I read a post from you last week where you still had a shortish-term target for the SPX as 1406.
Would I be correct in that assumption ?
Many thanks.
Did you place bets on a gap up ?MrMiyagi wrote:I did say yesterday that we'd have a green day today. I didn't say how long the green was going to last.....
No, I had mentioned "not betting" on the same post.Petsamo wrote:Did you place bets on a gap up ?

There is a turn date of 13-16th, this usually yields 4% or more turns, so if we are to stay sideways from here to the turn, we could either go up to 1404 or down to 1296...hdenandy wrote:hdenandy wrote:And yet, my FTSE here in the UK is holding up nicely, especially the banks.

Amen to that.Al_Dente wrote:PAGING A/D WATCHERS:
AD flaw is that it counts the number of stocks advancing/declining, it doesn’t tell HOW MUCH one stock may be advancing/declining v the others.
Example: if AAPL is up 10 points that counts as ONE advancing stock. If DD is up 1 point, that also counts as ONE up stock.
Bad example, as AAPL is not in the NYA, it just illustrates my point
Note: worth repeating: AAPL IS NOT IN THE NYA/NYSE/NYAD DATA
And AAPL appears to be the keynote benchmark stock of the year
(So what? The market is pegged to AAPL which isn’t even in our AD data??? Oy….)
All I can say is it’s a good thing Cobra watches AAPL and includes it in his EVERY post
